Opening Event

Doors open at 4 p.m.

Admission to the opening event will be with your name tag, which you will be handed out with your conference documents at the check-in desk in the central auditorium building directly at Ernst-Abbe-Platz.

Keynote: The Transformation of Global Inequality

Prof. Dr. Branko Milanović is currently Presidential Professor at the Graduate Center and Senior Fellow at the Stone Center on Socio-Economic Inequality at the City University of New York. For a long time he has been a senior economist in the research department of the World Bank. Main areas of work include: income inequality in individual countries and worldwide as well as historically in pre-industrial societies.

 

Standing reception from 8–11 p.m.

After the official opening, there will be a standing reception with snacks and drinks. The reception is included in the conference fee (with the exception of drinks).
